The 'Mane' Event of the Month!

Dear Class,

If you didn't open the wonderful evite invitation that just got posted, you may not have noticed that almost everyone in the class responded! (The ones that didn't have just gotten a friendly email from me, by the way, to make sure that everything's OK! I just HATE to think of someone missing out for whatever reason.) There were hardly any that couldn't make it - the Simpler's were in Washington, DC - and we even had Stan Plowden join in the celebration! (A Past President!)

Anyway, I usually like to mention everyone's names in the pictures I post (a helpful practice for the newcomers to the class) but there were so many at this function that I will only mention a few, I think - if anyone wants to, they can always go to that afore-mentioned evite invite to see if they can match faces with names.

In any case, the following pics will give a taste of how the shower went; I'll put the bulk of the pics on my facebook account for anyone who's truly interested (link below). Deirdre, you'll probably want to choose a few photos for little Daniel's scrapbook - I believe you'll be able to put comments on the shots you want me to send to your email or wherever. We all had such a spendid time, by the way - and we thank God for making this lovely excuse for us to party!

We're rejoicing with you!! - M (for the Faith Class)

The Invitation to the Baby Shower!

Kristi Wetzel put together the following evite invitation so that it would be easier to keep track of the food and the guests for Deirdre and Danny Smith's baby shower! It turned out to be a marvellous way to make sure every detail came together beautifully! See the next post for pictures of the gala event which took place this past Sunday, Feb. 24th...

P.S. Kristi did a whole lot more than just make up the invitation, that's for sure. She was the main reason for the transformation of the Farquhar home into a lion's den in honor of upcoming baby Daniel! It looked to me that she must have had quite a few able helpers, too! Thanks go to all the members of the greatest class at MRPC!!

Class Missionary Lunch Feb. 3, '08

Our class was honored to be able to have the Wilson's as our missionaries for the conference and it was therefore our privilege to put on a lunch for them after Sunday's services. Kristi and John Wetzel (and son, Luke) were kind enough to offer their home for this gathering and Hedy and others helped both before and after to keep things running smoothly. It was beautiful weather and the company was even better! Thank you, Tim and Vivian for all you do and for gracing MRPC with your presence this week.

Souper Sunday Pics - Jan 6, '08

Because the Christmas season tends to be so full of activities already (what with family, other friends and office colleagues), our class decided to get together after the holidays - on the 11th or 12th Day of Christmas - depending on how you look at it. That meant we could still use the red and green theme compelte with bells and it was also a chance to share our leftover sweet treats, too. The party was held after church at the Riverwood Farm clubhouse where we could all be together in one room. The atmosphere was truly fine and the food and fellowship were even better! I always walk away wishing for the next bit of togetherness, don't y'all?Kristi and Pat making sure there were enough electrical outlets for all the pots.

It was nice to have some kids in our midst - even if they didn't really want to associate with us adults much!
